Relax, It's Automated

Posted by Anonymous | Posted in , , , , , | Posted on 10:24 AM

Most people arrive home from work and walk into a dark and empty house. They may even end up stumbling around, looking for a switch and then tripping over something, and before they know it they are in the hospital with a kidney stone. A great way to avoid all of this misfortune is by utilizing the latest in home automation technology. Today it is possible for a person to walk into their home and with only the touch of a button, the alarm turns off and the lights turn on. Maybe the bathtub fills with hot bubbly water. Or a person activates the automated therapist for a long chat about their shortcomings. Home automation has not yet reached the level of computerized psychoanalysis but one never can predict the capabilities of today’s greatest minds. Technology has taken great pains to create numerous life-changing products (see Litter Robots) and it is becoming increasingly evident that all ideas are on the table as far as modern technology is concerned.
There are multitudes of ways in which the utilization of home automation can make life easier. The OmniPro II by HAI is an example of such a system. By using a touchscreen, a person can control their security, lighting, energy, entertainment and even the interface itself.
Security systems such as fire, smoke, carbon monoxide, and water can be monitored and any intrusions can be detected. In an emergency, the device can communicate with a central monitoring station that will contact the homeowner to verify that there is a problem in the house. In the event of a fire, the air conditioning is turned off to deter the spread of smoke and fire. You can also set the system to turn on all of the lights in the house to aid in your family's safe exit.
Lighting can also be controlled by a schedule or by motion detection, door opening/closing, sunrise, sunset, alarm activation/deactivation and more. Perhaps in the future your house will detect your movements even more than this, and will adjust the temperature of the house based on your own body temperature and perhaps even walk your dog (or your cat if your cat is like that).
Energy can also be managed and monitored through this system. Temperature and lighting can be controlled based on the time of day or occupancy of the home. It has been estimated that dimming a light by just 10% can save 10% of electricity and double the life of the bulb. The only downside is that there will be significantly fewer opportunities for “how many certain types of people does it take to screw in a light bulb” jokes. An energy management system can also be helpful to monitor products like water or energy usage -- just in case grandma forgot that she already watered the lawn three times that day. At least everyone knows who to thank for the lush quality of the yard.
Entertainment can also be controlled with the OmniPro II. The systems can be integrated with a variety of multi-room audio systems, including Hi-Fi by HAI and others made by NuVo, Proficient Audio Systems, and Russound. By using a multi-room audio system, each room is able to play their own music choice. Great for parents who are attempting to stay relevant by listening to their kid’s music. Yes Dad, you are very cool.
A great new feature of home automation systems is that they can be controlled remotely from a mobile device. The OmniPro II can be accessed and controlled over the telephone from either within or away from home and also over the internet. Check and adjust lights, temperature, and security from your phone and/or computer. This is a useful feature and can even be used in creative ways. Perhaps there is a houseguest who has not taken the hint. Not a problem, because when the house temperature goes down to 30 degrees you will have effectively iced them out of your home.
Technology progresses and improves so quickly that one can only speculate the products and features that may eventually be available. Home automation does not always have to be solely practical. Perhaps one day you will be able to use home automation for sheer enjoyment as well us utilitarian purposes. Maybe you can invite a virtual friend over for a game of checkers or activate an automated laugh track for those lonely nights when you may just want some lively conversation with yourself. Whatever the future holds, Mezuri Systems can be relied on as the best option for home automation installation. Call Mezuri Systems today for a consultation. www.mezurisystems.com

What Makes Biometric Access Control Security Systems So Secure?

Posted by Blognut | Posted in , , , , | Posted on 6:19 PM

Biometric access control security systems, are often overlooked but are incredibly useful in keeping your business or residence totally safeguarded. This is primarily because biometric security systems employ some of the most cutting edge technology to date. Here is a little more information about Biometrics:
What Makes Biometrics Secure?:
-Biometric systems have been developed around unique characteristics of the individuals who have been granted access. The probability of 2 people sharing the same biometric data is virtually impossible.
-Unlike traditional security systems, access can’t be shared because a biometric property is an intrinsic property of an individual. Being that you can’t give someone a copy of your face or handprint, especially with new technologies that ensure the biometric data is authentic, unwanted access is nearly impossible.
-Unlike a key or even an access card, a person’s biometric property can’t be lost, unless the person is in a serious accident.
If you are interested in safeguarding your home or business with biometric access control security systems, contact a Mezuri systems representative for more information. Mezuri Systems is the NY Tri-state’s leader in residential and commercial security systems, and only a leader in the field like Mezuri Systems has the expertise to properly install and configure an advanced system like a Biometric access control system.

CCTV Security Surveillance Is a Must For Modern Businesses

Posted by Blognut | Posted in , , , | Posted on 10:27 AM

Modern businesses have many expenses and one of them shouldn’t be inventory loss. In the past it would be common for businesses to emply a 24 security guard, while on the street local police walked their “beats” every night providing business owners with extra peace of mind that their investments would be safe. Nowadays, however, few police departments can afford to staff beat walking officers and additionally, few business owners have the funds necessary to have a guard on staff 24 hours a day.

So what’s the solution? CCTV security surveillance. The advances in the CCTV security surveillance system has made it the affordable option for nearly every business owner. In fact, many police departments have been employing CCTV security to assist in monitoring activities. Specifically, London has the largest number of security cameras per square foot of any city in the world. The system was responsible for identifying the people involved in the 2005 subway bombings.

An audio distribution system can mean the difference between a good experience at a restaurant or bar and a great one. Even when it’s just playing background music, a quality commercial sound system can improve the sense of ambience for customers and enhance your business’s image.

Mezuri Systems offers a range of sound, audio-visual, background music, public address and paging systems, and other communication solutions for all types of businesses, from offices, department stores and wedding venues to hotels, bars, entertainment complexes and even houses of worship.

Audio distribution systems use cutting-edge equipment and the latest computer software and CAD systems to ensure high performance, flexibility and ease of use. A good commercial audio distribution system functions well day in, day out, and is easy for the user to operate at the touch of a button. If an establishment such bar has a multi-zone system, then a bartender has control over all sections of the bar and is able to change tracks and adjust volume to set the mood as needed.

How Do Access Control Security Systems Work?

Posted by Blognut | Posted in , | Posted on 11:18 AM

Access control systems are an important security tool for businesses as they allow you to secure your premises through the use of code keypads and computerized cards, and even finger print, hand and facial recognition readers. With access card readers combined with CCTV security surveillance, your business can determine who entered a room, when and why.

Access control security systems provide you with complete control over your property. You can program cards so that only authorized people can access a building, parts of a building, or certain doors at certain time. The system means you can know where your employees are at all times, which contributes to greater accountability and risk reduction. You can also generate electronic access reports and conduct audits of all activity that takes place on the property.

Visitors can be easily managed through access control security systems. They can be issued temporary card readers that gives them access to only certain doors, in a certain timeframe. With access control security systems, doors can be programmed to lock or unlock automatically, which is particularly useful for entrance or lobby doors.

Experience Movie Magic with Home Theater Installations

Posted by Ajax Union Blogging | Posted in , , , , | Posted on 10:02 AM

The rising cost of movie and theater tickets means that a night out at the movies is becoming less affordable. With adult movie tickets costing up to $20, expensive parking costs and overpriced popcorn and drinks, a family of four can easily spend up to $150 for just two hours of entertainment that's often accompanied by long lines and crowds, obstructed viewing, and audience members who like to talk.

The good news is that you can easily experience the magic of the movies, without breaking your budget, from the comfort of your own home with a home theater system complete with surround sound, a big plasma screen, and comfortable seating. All you have to is call a home theater installation company.

A good home theater has well-tiered seating, so that your family and guests can enjoy the picture without having to look over or around someone’s head. With your well-designed acoustics and audio distribution system, soundproofing, and properly placed speakers, including subwoofers for deep bass effects, you’ll be immersed in the soundtrack and feel part of the action with your plasma screen providing three-dimensional vividness. And sound, lighting and ventilation are all easy to adjust with your well-integrated remote control system.

You’ve bought some microwave popcorn and soda from the local supermarket and you have this week's release on Blu-Ray DVD. So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to head to the movies.
