Theater Installation by Mezuri (Applause!)

Posted by Anonymous | Posted in , , , | Posted on 1:15 PM

Mezuri Systems has just put the finishing touches on the theater in the The Plex apartment building on 958 Nostrand Ave. This theater is amazing. And it doesn’t smell like popcorn. It smells like hopes and dreams.
This theater is available for tenants to watch the movie of their choice with their family and friends. And since it is a somewhat “private” theater, tenants will have the ability to freely suggest to a loved one that they “keep it down” when watching a film. Tenants will also have the option to watch their favorite movies in the theater that would never otherwise be exposed to the glory of the big screen again. Chances are that at least one person will want to watch Jurassic Park, hey that’s not a bad idea.
The theater is equipped with the latest products and top of the line technology. THX surround sound (the best in the biz!), 120” screen, Control4 Equipment Controller with 7 inch Infinity Touch Screen, Sony HD projector and a Blu-ray player. For those less interested in technology and more into soft comfortable couches, well they have those too.
What does it take to build your own personal theater in your home or building? Let Mezuri worry about that, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the show.

Moblie Security Now Available from Mezuri

Posted by Anonymous | Posted in | Posted on 3:43 PM

Have you or your company ever needed a portable security system which can monitor your assets in any location, 24 hours a day? Mezuri Systems now offers Mobile Security Units that you can use to access cameras and sensory devices which will help you keep an eye on a site or building.

From the convenience of your home or office, you can access cameras and sensory devices through the easy to use wireless remote monitoring system. This Mobile Security Unit is compact, portable and comes equipped with everything that you will need to launch your video surveillance within minutes.
Mezuri’s Mobile Security Unit uses only the latest video technology and each device is equipped with cameras that have the ability to pan, tilt and zoom. Not only will you be able to view your site, but you can also record using the digital video recorder that is incorporated into the system. You will be able to effectively monitor your site with nothing more than a remote control.
Mezuri’s portable security units can be used in a variety of settings:
  • Parking lots – After hours, parking lots can be a hotbed of subversive activity. The lack of a human presence can be a welcoming reprieve to the inquisitive criminal. Live camera feeds will inform you if your business or site is experiencing a potential threat.
  • Construction sites – Over 1 billion dollars of property is stolen from construction sites every year. At night, these areas are desolate and vulnerable. Not only will a Mezuri Portable Security System view and record a criminal in the act, it can also sound alarms or sirens to scare the unwelcome intruder.
  • Roads and highways – Roads and highways can be busy places and therefore difficult to monitor. Motion sensors and radar units can watch the surroundings and report activity.
  • Events or demonstrations - Some events draw large crowds that can be difficult to control. A portable security system has the advantage of a bird’s eye view, which can monitor unruly behavior and spot potential commotions. This serves as an aid to law enforcement and helps them to manage their resources to the places where they are most needed.
  • Stadiums or venues - The facilities are able to host multitudes of people; it is in the interest of all present to remain safe and secure. If an incident should occur, a portable security system would be equipped to locate and identify a potential threat. It also ensures that personnel are well-informed by preventing the confusion that may occur when overlooking a crowd with only one pair of eyes.

Mezuri Systems is excited to announce that Control4, introduced a new portable touch screen to their award-winning touch screen family. The Control4 7” Portable Touch Screen offers two-way intelligent control and navigation of a Control4 system. With a capacitive full-color LCD panel, the new touch screen has a sleek look and dedicated control functionality that homeowners are unable to get from other tablet devices.

The Control4 7” Portable Touch Screen expands the already incredibly successful line of Control4 in-wall touch screens by giving homeowners welcome flexibility. The Portable has a sleek tablet form-factor and comes with both a long-lasting rechargeable battery and a tabletop charging station. Out of the cradle, the Portable offers excellent wireless range so you can easily move about the house and outside while still enjoying complete control. When the tablet is affixed to the docking station, it functions as a tabletop touch screen, ideal for locations like nightstands, end tables and kitchen counters where anytime access is important but an in-wall or fully portable device doesn’t make sense. Users simply tap the display screen to access any of the home’s subsystems, including lighting, security, surveillance, music, and even cool Flash-based control apps for energy monitoring, streaming radio services, parental movie controls, door locks and setting vacation or wake-up scenes. The touch screen also features four programmable buttons for quick access to favorite control features.

The Control4 7” Portable Touch Screen also provides intercom functionality with a license activation. The intercom allows the homeowner to have an ongoing conversation with a person at another intercom device without requiring either person to hold down a button; occupants can ring room-to-room; "Do not disturb" and privacy features are also available to provide control over the use of the intercom. The Portable also adds whole home intercom functionality by allowing users to take an intercom device from one room to another room or into parts of the house where you might not install an in-wall touch screen.

HAI Room Configuration

Posted by Blognut | Posted in | Posted on 8:50 AM

Mezuri Systems a leading 5 star dealer of Home Automation, Inc. (HAI) products, announced a significant update for their controllers and interfaces, allowing configuration of items by room.

Now, homeowners will be able to use their iPhone, iPod, or iPad to quickly dial into a specific room. From one page, they can access everything in that room, including settings for lights, temperatures, audio/video, and more.

Mezuri Systems can provide custom room text like “Living Room”, “Master Bedroom”, and “Patio”, and classify which automated devices belong in every room. That information is then distributed to and accessible from every enhanced interface in the home. This enhancement will first be available for Snap-Link Mobile for iPhone, and will be incorporated into HAI’s other award-winning interfaces.

Additionally, the HAI controller will now store settings for the configuration of IP devices such as HAI Dock, HAI Music Gateway, and IP surveillance cameras. This allows easier and reduced installation times since supported interfaces can retrieve settings directly from the controller.

These new developments will be incorporated into HAI’s next controller firmware update, expected in September 2011. All items are backwards compatible. Users of Snap-Link Mobile for iPhone receive free upgrades.

“The room enhancement is particularly useful for large residences and small commercial spaces, some of which have over 200 lighting loads and dozens of thermostats”, explained HAI President, Jay McLellan. “This architectural change, along with the storing of installation settings, is an impressive installation development that for our dealers.”

ISC West in Las Vegas

Posted by Anonymous | Posted in , , , , , , | Posted on 1:09 PM

ISC West is the largest security event in the US and Mezuri Systems was there because they are always invited to the best parties. With over 900 exhibitors and 23,000 security professionals, Mezuri Systems was able to see the newest products and network with some of their colleagues who were, as always, elated to see them. It has been said that ISC West is the best place to discover new products & trends. It has also been said that Lucky Charms provides a daily serving of whole grain. ISC West features exhibitors in a wide area of industry sectors including: Access control, alarms & monitoring, biometrics, video surveillance, fire control, remote monitoring, systems integration, public security & safety, IT convergence, and wireless applications. There was also a tongue piercing booth which was oddly out of place but made for some great stories and infections for the attendees to take back home to share with their loved ones.
The reason Mezuri takes the time to go to these shows is to find the newest and best technology options to provide to their customers. It is a great occasion to view products and see the new directions in which technology is going. Plus this year the show was in Vegas and if you were lucky enough to hang with Mezuri Systems, you were fully entertained by $3 blackjack and sparkly cowboy hats.
An access control product which was presented at the show and one that Mezuri Systems recently began offering to their customers is Keyscan Hosted Access. Remotely hosting an access control system has many advantages for the customer. A remotely hosted database is more stable than a local one which may not be monitored 24/7. Data loss and system failure can be avoided by remotely monitoring the site. There are times when Windows likes to shut down your computer to install updates. If this were to happen without anyone being aware, the entire system could be shut down causing the loss of data or accessibility. Additional features give the customer control of adding/removing users and running reports on the activity in the building. The remote host is also able to save reports and send them to the customer on a daily or weekly basis.
The newly released GT Series intercom by Aiphone was also on display at the show. To provide effective security, the GT series features a wide angle camera that enables you to see a panoramic view. People standing on the side and people of all heights can be easily identified. Another feature is automatic recording which works anytime, even during your absence. It records 6 images per picture sequence and up to 40 picture sequences can be recorded. If you have a friend who lives in a building that is equipped with this intercom, please make sure to take full advantage of the picture recording feature to surprise your friends and potentially embarrass yourself.
The show also provided Mezuri with an opportunity to find a reliable and effective IP solution for their CCTV customers. There are a few advantages to using an IP system as opposed to an analog system, however it is imperative that the system is set up properly and that dependable, high-quality products are used. IP systems provide better wireless reception, experience no interference problems, and remote access is much easier. This system should only be utilized by those who have a capable network to support the bandwidth required for this setup.
Additional products featured at the show that Mezuri intends to offer in the future are license plate recognition camera systems and mobile security systems. License plate recognition is useful in parking lots and toll booths to capture and record a clear image of a license plate. Mobile security can be used anywhere to provide security for an outdoor or remote location that cannot be monitored by a person or CCTV cameras.
Once again, the show was a successful endeavor for Mezuri and although there was no skill competition, Zushie is still the man.

The NEC DSX-40 Residential Phone System

Posted by Anonymous | Posted in , , , , , , | Posted on 11:05 AM

As far as household phone systems go, this particular system could rightfully be classified as “the most comprehensive phone system ever conceived by humans.” The only thing it doesn’t do is your laundry, but it’s a pretty safe bet that if you want it to, it will at least remind you that you need to do your laundry. I will even go as far as to wager that it will deliver said laundry reminder in a sweet and soothing voice.

Although I am not usually one to be impressed or dazzled by a phone system, I will readily admit that this phone system impresses and dazzles me. “Intramail” is the nifty name for a feature that provides everyone in the house with the option to have their own voicemail greeting and mailbox. This is really handy because I certainly wouldn’t want anyone to listen to my messages, which are usually wrong numbers or angry neighbors. The DSX system also has recording capability that can be useful for later conversation review. Perhaps a discussion was particularly insightful, or maybe information was provided that could not be written down at the time because someone was busy lifting weights. It may be worth mentioning that this phone boasts some additional cutting edge features, I believe it is pronounced “Caller ID” and “Call Waiting.” If a person does not yet have a phone with Caller ID or Call Waiting then they are most likely 99 years old. No offense to any 99 year olds, I find you to be adorable and yes, I want to hear all of your stories.
This phone has so many features that I cannot even devote the proper word space needed to describe them all. Here are some additional aspects to get pretty excited about:
· Message notification -- a way for a user to be notified if they receive a message on their phone when they are not at home.
· Live call screening -- listen to messages being recorded live and have the option to pick up the call or allow it to keep recording.
· Message on hold -- record a message or music to play while a person is on hold.
· Soft buttons -- the buttons on the phone are soft.
Not only does this system possess every phone-related feature that can be imagined, it can also be integrated with numerous other automated household systems such as security, intercom, lighting, climate, scenes, audio, and access control.
Lighting - The user can control the lighting from any DSX telephone in any room of the house. Lights can be turned on, off or dimmed. The phone display shows which lights are on, off and the brightness of each.
Security - By using the phone display, a user can control and view the alarm status. This eliminates the need to install an alarm panel on the wall, resulting in more room for tribal artwork and decorative candles.
Access Control - The keys on the phone can monitor and control access to your home’s doors and gates. The status of every entrance can also be viewed through the telephone display.
Climate - The climate of the home can be regulated so that the user is comfortable and relaxed while effectively managing their energy expenses.
Scenes – You can preset automated features that can be accessed by pressing a key on the telephone. Scenes can be arranged that will close the blinds and dim the lights if it is movie time, or a bedtime scene can be created that will turn off all the lights.
Audio - An HAI-compatible audio system can also be controlled through the phone. A user can turn the system on or off, adjust the sources and volume, or mute the audio automatically when the phone is ringing or a call is taking place. This is very convenient for when an angry neighbor calls to request that the music be turned down. You can now claim that you have no idea what they are referring to -- you aren’t even listening to any music.
The DSX system is compatible with HAI systems such as Omni IIe, OmniPro II, Lumina, and Lumina Pro. For more information, click here.
